5. I chose you to be adopted into My family before creation.  (Eph. 1:4-5)  

5. உலக தோற்றத்துக்கு முன்னே நான் உங்களை கிறிஸ்து இயேசு வழியாக எனக்கு சொந்த பிள்ளைகளாக்கிக் கொள்ள தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன். (Eph. 1:4-5)  

5. தமக்கு முன்பாக நாம் அன்பில் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களும் குற்றமில்லாதவர்களுமாயிருப்பதற்கு, அவர் உலகத்தோற்றத்துக்கு முன்னே கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் நம்மைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டபடியே, பிரியமானவருக்குள் தாம் நமக்குத் தந்தருளின தம்முடைய கிருபையின் மகிமைக்குப் புகழ்ச்சியாக, தம்முடைய தயவுள்ள சித்தத்தின்படியே, நம்மை இயேசு கிறிஸ்து மூலமாய்த் தமக்குச் சுவிகாரபுத்திரராகும்படி முன் குறித்திருக்கிறார். Day 5: Chosen and Adopted into the Divine Family Before Creation

I. Theme: Resting securely in the eternal electing love of the Father, rejoicing in full adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ, and walking in holy, blameless devotion to the praise of His glorious grace.

II. God’s Promise — Scripture: "Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will." [Eph 1:4–5]

III. Divine Meditation: 1. In a fallen world, countless souls bear the deep, painful wounds of human rejection, abandonment, and orphan-hearted insecurity. People wear themselves out striving to win the volatile approval of men, often projecting that same transactional, conditional mindset onto God Almighty. [Ps 27:10; Isa 49:15; John 5:44]

2. Ephesians 1:4–5 permanently shatters this debilitating fear. Before the stars were flung into space, before the foundations of the earth were established, and long before you took your first breath, God set His sovereign, covenant affection upon you in Jesus Christ. Your place in the divine family is not an accidental happening, an afterthought, or a reluctant concession, but an eternal decree settled by the Father's heart before time began. [Jer 1:5; Jer 31:3; 2 Tim 1:9]

You are not a temporary foster guest living in terror of rejection; you are an adopted son or daughter, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and permanently sealed by the Holy Spirit. [Rom 8:1; Gal 4:6–7; Eph 4:30]

4. True sonship does not breed moral complacency; rather, tasting such staggering, unmerited love ignites a holy reverence and a fervent passion to walk worthy of our heavenly Father. We do not pursue holiness to earn the Father's love; we pursue holiness because we are already His dearly loved, fully accepted children in Christ. [Luke 1:74–75; Col 1:10; 1 John 4:19]

IV. Prayer Through the Promise: 1. Sovereign Lord God, Heavenly Father, You are from everlasting to everlasting, and Your lovingkindness is beyond all measure; I bow before You in awe, acknowledging that You chose me in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world. [Ps 90:2; Ps 103:17; Eph 1:4]

V. Personal Faith Confession and Declaration: 1. I boldly declare that before the foundation of the world, Almighty God chose me in Christ Jesus according to the unconditional love and sovereign pleasure of His will. [Eph 1:4–5; 2 Thess 2:13]

VI. Scripture-Based Thanksgiving: 1. "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." [1 John 3:1]

4. Praise to the Father Who Chose and Adopted Me: Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your eternal love and sovereign grace, by which You chose me in Christ and adopted me as Your beloved child. Thank You that my identity and acceptance are not founded on my merit, but on Your grace revealed in Jesus Christ. I praise You that I can call You “Abba, Father,” belong to Your family, and walk before You in holiness and love. May my life continually reflect the privilege of being Your child and resound to the praise of the glory of Your grace. All glory, honor, thanksgiving, and praise belong to You forever. Amen.

VII. Biblical Context and Meaning: 1. In Ephesians 1:3–14, the apostle Paul opens with an inspired, majestic hymn of praise exalting the Triune God for the eternal, unbroken chain of redemption. Verses 4 and 5 unveil the sovereign origin and ultimate goal of our salvation: God's electing grace did not begin with human initiative, but was determined in eternity past—pro katabolēs kosmou ("before the foundation of the world"). This choice was not prompted by foreseen human righteousness, personal merit, or works, but was purposed entirely en Christō ("in Christ") and grounded solely in His unconditional love (en agapē). [Eph 1:3–4; 2 Tim 1:9; 1 Pet 1:18–20]

2. The apostle employs the precise legal term huiothesia ("adoption as sons"). In Greco-Roman law, an adopted child was permanently delivered from prior debts, fully incorporated into the new father's household, and invested with identical legal standing, authority, and inheritance rights as a natural-born son. The sovereign purpose of this eternal adoption is twofold: an ethical purpose, that we should be transformed to live "holy and blameless before Him in love," and a supreme doxological purpose that echoes through eternity—"to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved."
